Ghar Hassan Cave

This cave is a little difficult to find but well worth the effort, The location is to be found near the small town of Hal Far, and you will need a car to make the journey easy.The name means cave of Hassan who was the occupant of the cave with his good lady wife. The story tells that Hassan and his wife threw themselves over the cliffs and into the sea to escape the conquering Christian forces. The cave is 70 to 80 metres above sea level and provides breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs. The caves would have been occupied by families in prehistoric times and is a fantastic window back to the past.
